There’s a meadow painting living rent-free in my head — and this is what March looked like while I was figuring it out.
It started with violets, since March is their time. Then one wildflower led to another until I had a whole meadow: daisies, poppies, corn marigolds, fumitory, bladder campions. I’ve been doing color studies too, trying to understand how to show wildflower abundance without necessarily painting every single flower.
The cat was always part of the plan. Obviously.
Sadly, after the first week of March I ran out of time and space to draw — art markets took over my weekends and it became hard to find quiet moments with my sketchbook. In April I hope to paint some of the ideas you might have glimpsed in those sketches.
I’m also trying to bring more storytelling to my posts — sharing more about my process, how I think through things, how I make decisions. No gatekeeping here. I hope you feel welcome in my tiny little corner of the internet.
Have a nice day!
